SiteLive
PerryTech's SiteLive system was inspired by a product we created for school web sites called the PerryTech Admin System. Schools needed a way to allow their staff to add and edit pages on their web site quickly and easily without having to extensively train each one. It was clear that some kind of web-based interface was required to allow staff to edit the pages with a minimum of fuss. The original Admin System ran on ASP and used a Microsoft Access database connected via ODBC. ASP was used because most school in London were migrating towards the London Grid for Learning and their web platform was ISS based with ASP support. Although now defunct the reasons for which the Admin System was created still exist - or clients still want to be able to make small changes to their web sites without having to call us in. To allow them to do this PerryTech created SiteLive, a PHP MySQL based database-drive content management system. Now installed by default on all PerryTech sites, and upgraded on several of the older ones, SiteLive allows easy and fast page editing straight from your browser window.
